Release Date : July 16, 2018
File Size : 0.65 MB

Abstract

The number of poor people in Maluku in March 2018 was 320.08 thousand people (18.12 percent). Compared to September 2017, the number of poor people decreased by 340, while the poverty rate in Maluku in March 2018 also decreased by 0.17 points.

The role of food commodities against the Poverty Line (GK) is much greater than non-food commodities (housing, clothing, education, and health). In September 2017 period s.d. March 2018, Poverty Depth Index (P1) and Poverty Severity Index (P2) showed an increasing trend. This indicates that in the period, the average expenditure of the poor tends to move away from the poverty line and the inequality of spending among the poor is also increasing.
