◼ August 2023 Tual City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 4.68 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 119.17 Meanwhile, Ambon City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.08 percent with a CPI of 118 .18.
◼ Of the 90 CPI cities, the city with the highest yoy inflation was Manokwari City, which was 6.40 percent with a CPI of 122.04 and the lowest yoy inflation occurred in Jambi City, which was 1.92 percent with a CPI of 116.37.
◼ Inflation in Tual City occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in most of the expenditure group indices. Price increases were indicated by increases in 8 expenditure groups, the highest yoy inflation was in the Transportation group by 19.17 percent and the lowest was in the Information, Communication and Financial Services expenditure group by 0 percent. Meanwhile, 2 expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely the Health group by 0.73 percent and the Recreation, Sports and Culture Group by 0.18 percent.
◼ Month to month (MTM) inflation rate (August 2023 to July 2023) Tual City experienced inflation of 0.4 percent. Meanwhile, Ambon City experienced a deflation of 0.35 percent.
◼ Calendar year inflation rate/year to date (YTD) (August 2023 to December 2022) Tual City experienced inflation of 3.33 percent. Meanwhile, Ambon City experienced inflation of 1.17 percent.
◼ 5 (five) dominant commodities contributed to inflation yoy August 2023 in Tual City, namely: Air Transportation (1.1626%), Rice (0.6381%), Gasoline (0.6264%), Flying Fish/Fish Benggol (0.4974%), Rice with Side Dishes (0.4498%).
◼ Whereas 5 (five) commodities that dominantly contributed to August 2023 mtm inflation in Tual City, namely: Tuna/Ambu-Ambu Fish (0.1223%), Filter Clove Cigarettes (0.1023%), Sea Transportation (0 .0979%), Air Transport (0.0651%), Household Fuel (0.061%).
