Abstract

• In October 2021, 68 of Indonesia's 90 CPI cities experienced inflation, while 22 saw deflation.

• Tual City suffered 0.56 percent deflation with a CPI of 108.94, while Ambon City experienced 0.23 percent inflation with a CPI of 107.70.

• The highest inflation was 2.06% with a CPI of 109.30 in Sampit, while the lowest was 0.02 percent with a CPI of 104.64 in Banyuwangi. Meanwhile, the largest deflation was 0.70 percent with a CPI of 107.98 in Kendari, while the lowest was 0.02 percent with a CPI of 105.89 in Bengkulu.

• In October 2021, Tual City's monthly inflation was rated 89th (Ambon City ranked 32nd), Tual City's calendar year inflation was ranked 7th (Ambon City ranked 9) and Tual City's year-over-year inflation was ranked 7th (Ambon City ranked 9). (Ambon City is ranked 44th).

• Deflation happened as a result of a drop in many price indices across a variety of expenditure categories. The transportation sector experienced the greatest drop, with a CPI of 97.23 and a drop of -2.83 percent.

• Price fluctuations affect 66 different sorts of goods and services, the majority of which are food, beverages, and cigarettes. Tuna/komu, air transportation, selar fish, kale, bean sprouts/sprouts, laying fish/momar, cars, cassava leaves, tomatoes, and papaya flowers were among the 35 types of goods and services that experienced price declines this month in Tual City, with the highest declines occurring in tuna/komu, air transportation, selar fish, kale, bean sprouts/sprouts, laying fish/momar.

• Meanwhile, anchovies, rice, spinach, mackerel/lema, red snapper, cooking oil, squid fish, electric tools, concrete iron, and cucumbers all saw price increases in October 2021, with the highest increases occurring in anchovies, rice, spinach, mackerel/lema, red snapper, cooking oil, squid fish, electric tools, concrete iron, and cucumbers.
