In February 2023, Tual City experienced inflation of 0.64 percent

Abstract

◼ February 2023 Tual City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 6.73 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 116.68 while Ambon City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 5.64 percent with a CPI of 115.85.
◼ Of the 90 CPI cities, the city with the highest yoy inflation was Kotabaru, which amounted to 7.88 percent with a CPI of 120.04 and the lowest yoy inflation occurred in Waingapu city, which amounted to 3.57 percent with a CPI of 112.74.
◼ Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices. The increase in prices is indicated by an increase in 9 expenditure groups, the highest yoy inflation in the Food and Beverage / Restaurant Provision group of 20.58 percent and the lowest in the Education expenditure group of 0.49 percent. While 2 expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely the Health group by 1.37 percent, and Information, Communication, and Financial Services by 0.12 percent.
◼ Monthly inflation rate/month to month (MTM) (January 2023 to February 2023) Tual City experienced inflation of 0.64 percent. Meanwhile, Ambon City experienced deflation of 0.61 percent.
◼ Calendar year/year to date (YTD) inflation rate (December 2022 to February 2023) Tual City experienced inflation of 1.17 percent. Meanwhile, Ambon City experienced deflation of 0.82 percent.
◼ 5 (five) commodities that dominantly contributed to February 2023 yoy inflation in Tual City are: Air Transportation (1.2435%), Gasoline (0.6139%), Rice with Side Dish (0.5512%), Filter Clove Cigarettes (0.4251), Rice (0.3906%).
◼ Meanwhile, the 5 (five) commodities that dominantly contributed to February 2023 mtm inflation in Tual City are: Air Transportation (0.2432%), Filter Clove Cigarettes (0.2211%), Tuna/Pomato Fish (0.112%), Rice with Side Dishes (0.1093%), White Snapper/Saccuda Fish (0.0657%).
