• There was deflation as a result of falling price indices across a number of spending categories. The food, beverage, and tobacco sector experienced the highest deflation, at 3.21 percent and a CPI of 115.
• Price adjustments affect 76 different categories of products and services, with food, drinks, and cigarettes accounting for the majority of these changes. Prices dropped for 30 different products and services, with mackerel/bloated fish/banyar fish/gembolo fish, domestic fuel, baronang fish, shallots, and tuna/ambu-ambu fish experiencing the steepest drops. Aso-aso fish, broiled chicken flesh, broiled chicken eggs, deep-fried fish, and cooking oil were the products that made up the bulk of Tual City's deflation this month.
• While 46 different categories of products and services saw price increases in October 2022, anchovies, gasoline, cayenne pepper, mustard greens, kale, spinach, white snapper/skuda, raw tofu, filter kretek cigarettes, and white cigarettes saw the biggest increases.
