Abstract

 In July 2023 Tual City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 3.32 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 118.69 while Ambon City experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 4.29 percent with a CPI of 118.60.
 Of the 90 CPI cities, the city with the highest yoy inflation was Merauke City at 5.21 percent with a CPI of 116.10 and the lowest yoy inflation occurred in Gungungsitoli City at 0.5 percent with a CPI of 116.28.
 Inflation in Tual City occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices. The increase in prices is indicated by an increase in 9 expenditure groups, the highest yoy inflation in the Transportation group by 18.6 percent and the lowest in the Information, Communication and Financial Services expenditure group by 0.25 percent. While 2 expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely the Health group by 0.82 percent and the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Group by 0.66 percent.
 Monthly inflation rate/month to month (MTM) (July 2023 against June 2023) Tual City experienced deflation of 0.5 percent. While Ambon City experienced deflation of 0.06 percent.
 Calendar year/year to date (YTD) inflation rate (July 2023 to December 2022) Tual City experienced inflation of 2.91 percent. While Ambon City experienced inflation of 1.53 percent.
 5 (five) commodities that dominantly contributed to yoy inflation in July 2023 in Tual City are: Air Transportation (1.1798%), Rice (0.6323%), Gasoline (0.6208%), Rice with Side Dish (0.4457%), Filter Clove Cigarettes (0.3657%).
 While the 5 (five) commodities that dominantly contributed to the July 2023 mtm deflation in Tual City are: Tuna (0.6312%), Anchovy (0.0828%), Green Mustard (0.0546%), Eggplant (0.0346%), Squid (0.0252%).
