Abstract

In May 2021, out of 90 CPI Cities in Indonesia, 78 cities experienced inflation and 12 cities experienced deflation.
Tual City experienced inflation of 0.11 percent with a CPI of 107.43 and Ambon City also experienced inflation of 0.78 percent with a CPI of 106.48
The highest inflation occurred in Manokwari at 1.82 percent with a CPI of 109.47 and the lowest occurred in Tembilahan at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 106.82. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Timika at 0.83 percent with a CPI of 107.24 and the lowest occurred in Palembang at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 105.50.
Out of 90 HK Cities in Indonesia, in May 2021 Tual City's monthly inflation was ranked 64th (Ambon City 13th), Tual City's calendar year inflation was 60th (Ambon City 43rd) and to year Tual City was ranked 60th (Ambon City ranked 43rd).
Inflation occurred due to increases in several price indexes in several expenditure groups. The highest increase occurred in the Transportation group, which was 1.19 percent with a CPI of 104.06
There are 79 types of goods and services that experience price changes, most of which are food, beverages and tobacco. 42 types of goods and services experienced an increase in prices, with the highest increases occurring in anchovies, air transportation, cassava leaves, bananas, broiler meat, baronang fish, selar/kawalinya fish, papaya, non-foreman artisans and fish pass as types of goods that provide the biggest share of inflation that occurred this month in Tual City.
Meanwhile, 37 types of goods and services experienced a decline in prices in May 2021 with the highest declines occurring in flying fish/momar, cars, bean sprouts, tuna/komu, shallots, spring beds, white snapper, cell phones, kangkong and spinach.
